Direct Loan Status
What is the status of my Federal Direct Loan?
It usually takes 2-3 weeks for a Federal Direct Loan to be processed.
For a Federal Direct Loan application to get processed, students will need to have already submitted a completed FAFSA application, have enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits in a degree-granting program, resolve any outstanding items on their CUNYFirst “To Do List”, and met Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
Once a loan is processed, it will be reflected in CUNYFirst. The student can see the loan amount by going to their CUNYFirst’s Student Center, clicking on "View Financial Aid" in the Finances Section, and then selecting the aid year of interest.
