International students- help paying for college
I am an international student. Am I eligable for financial aid?
International students are not eligible to receive federal financial aid, but can apply for certain scholarships and private loans. Note that BMCC does not sponsor international students.
Perspective international students should be aware of dishonest scholarship offers. Do not send money, bank account numbers, or credit card numbers to any organization that promises a scholarship in return. If you doubt the truthfulness of any scholarship source, consult with the international student office at the university to which you are applying by emailing internationaladmissions@bmcc.cuny.edu

Private Loans
Private loans are available to international students who meet certain criteria. Most Private loans require a cosigner who is a U.S citizen or Permanent Resident. A cosigner is someone who is responsible for payment to the loaning institution if for any reason the international student is unable to pay back the loan themselves. However, not every lender requires a cosigner.
