Course Substitution Process

What is the process for a course substitution

What is a course substitution?

If a student has taken a class here and they want it to count for a different class (eg: student took at BMCC CHM 201 and want it to count for CHM 121 for nursing) or they have transferred in a class and they want it to count for another course (eg: student transferred in CHM 201 and want it to be transferred in as CHM 121 instead), this is called a course substitution (sub).

Course substitutions can be initiated by your academic advisor (there is a form on BMCC portal.) When filled out, this form will go to the department chair for signature, if approved be sent back to the registrar for the change in CUNY First.

For a status update on your submitted Course Substitution form, please reach out to the Registrars office at: [email protected]
