Appeals

I need to fill out an appeal. Which one do I need to fill out?

The Registrar’s Office processes 3 types of appeals:

I. Committee on Academic Standing (CAS) – file this appeal if you need to:

  • Withdraw after the official deadline
  • Change a failing grade (F, FAB, FIN, PEN, FPN, R, U, and WU) to an official withdrawal (W).
  • Apply for Special Probation after being dismissed.

II. Title IV – file this appeal if your financial aid has been suspended because you are not making satisfactory academic progress.

III. Miscellaneous – file this appeal if you are requesting to:

  • Cancel tuition for all of your courses for a given semester.
  • Cancel tuition for some of your courses for a given semester.
  • Retroactively register for a course for a given semester.

There are times when more than one appeal may have to be filed. For example, if you have been placed on Academic Dismissal, you will have to file a CAS appeal and possibly a Title IV appeal.

All appeals require a written statement from the student. It is highly advised to submit any and all supporting documentation. All appeals are reviewed by a committee and require a minimum of 2 weeks before a decision is rendered. You will be notified of the committee’s decision by mail, email or telephone.  All decisions are final.
