FAFSA Status
What is my FAFSA Status?
Students should check their CUNYfirst To-Do List located in their Student Center. Any pending items required for your FAFSA application would be listed here. If a student has not submitted their FAFSA application, CUNY would post on their to-do list “File the FAFSA Now”.
If you believe you had submitted a FAFSA and see the "File the FAFSA Now" notification, log in to your FAFSA application at Studentaid.gov and verify that you have submitted the right FAFSA application year and you included BMCC in your school selection (with the correct Federal School Code 002691).
If you have successfully submitted a FAFSA Application, you can check its status at Studentaid.gov Log in with your FSA ID username and password. The status of your application will be one of the following:
- Draft: Your section of the FAFSA form is incomplete.
- In Progress: You provided your consent, approval, and signature to your section of the FAFSA form, but the FAFSA form has not been submitted yet.
- In Review: The FAFSA form was submitted but hasn’t been processed yet.
- Action Required: You are missing your consent and approval or signature; or the FAFSA form was processed, but a correction is required.
- Processed: Your application was processed successfully. No further action is needed.
