Financial Aid Verification

Why was my financial aid application selected for verification?

The Verification process is a means to check the accuracy of the information reported on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Verification covers the information you submitted on the FAFSA, such as household size, number of family members in college, taxable and non-taxable income, asset information, etc.

If your FAFSA is selected for verification, the forms and a list of documents that are requested by the Financial Aid Office will be available in your CUNY First account. To access the list of documents, go to your "To Do List" under "Verify My FAFSA". Aid decision will not be made until all documents have been submitted.
